Skur 26

Skur 26 is a reuse hall for building materials, a living lab for circular solutions and a meeting place for knowledge sharing and development. The address is Fjordgaten 5 on Dokken, Bergen.

 

Skur 26

Skur 26 is the name of the whole building, including the meeting place (“the Clubhouse”) and office space. This is where we share knowledge, run workshops and develop projects, and where we welcome everyone who wants to see and touch the circular construction industry. Skur 26 is a living lab: the industry tests circular solutions here in practice.

Buying and selling takes place via Sirken. 
Anyone can buy, both businesses and private individuals. Only businesses can deliver goods, and all you need to do is register with Sirken. We encourage everyone to do so!

Facts

  • You deliver the goods to Skur 26 yourself. We receive. We do not collect.
  • Any questions about transport are handled with Sirken.
  • We are usually at Skur 26, but if you want to visit, check that we are in. We may be out and about.

Status now

  • We opened on 16 February 2026 and now have more than six months of operating experience.
  • Around 100 customers shopped in the hall during the first three months, and new goods keep coming in.
  • The hall is well stocked. Feel free to come in and shop.
  • Stein is in place as warehouse manager.
The story of Skur 26

From idea to reuse hall

Skur 26 did not happen by itself. It started with reuse projects, workshops and gatherings in the cluster from 2022, and a longing for a place to take care of building materials. With help from the City of Bergen, the members and Sirken, the shed was fitted out by volunteers in autumn 2025 and opened in February 2026. Here are small glimpses from the start until today.

2022–2023 · The industry calls for a reuse centre

As early as 2022, the construction industry in Bergen went public demanding a reuse centre. The cluster answered with Kontiki: one ventilation duct was sent through a completely new value chain for reuse, physically and digitally.

More than 50 participants and closed registration when the cluster kicked off Urban Mining, Pantheon and the donor building register. Developers, contractors and consultants set aside a full working day.

“A distilled selection from the whole value chain,” said Christer Knudsen of Brødrene Ulveseth. The developers discovered that reuse starts and ends with them.

At workshop 3 the process leaders from Tevas, PwC and Rambøll presented the status. Vestenfjeldske Eiendom said it plainly: We have nowhere to keep building materials that others could use.

125 registered when Building Innovation and Bergen Chamber of Commerce invited to an info meeting about Skur 26. “We have never done anything that has engaged so broadly,” said Hanne Wetland.

The Climate Agency and the City of Bergen worked hard to give the cluster access to Fjordgaten 5 on Dokken. With Sirken as the trading platform and Skur 26 as the hall, the system was in place.

The building

Skur 26 seen from the other side of Puddefjorden. Built during the war, with horses downstairs and hay upstairs. In recent years a popular backdrop for film shoots.

Asbjørn Stoveland from Veidekke was the very first to turn up to fix up the clubhouse. The hallway turned green with leftover paint from Malermester Buer.

The warehouse is emptied and the gate is in place. The Bergen region’s first reuse hall for building materials is ready to be filled. Anyone can buy, only businesses can sell.

Thomas Strand from the City of Bergen, Per Reigstad from Frydenbø Eiendom and Jon Eidset from Monsen Elektro fitted out the shed as volunteers. From nothing to shelving in one day.

More than 700 square metres for reuse. Deliveries came closer and closer together in the run-up to the opening.

Members from BOB, Sweco, Monsen Elektro and the City of Bergen painted, sprayed signs and mounted branch racks. Seven partners had signed with Sirken before Christmas.

Mayor Marit Warncke opened Skur 26 with 120 registered guests from the construction and real estate industry. NRK Vestlandsrevyen was there. The infrastructure for reuse is in place.

The University of Bergen delivered loads of cabinets and shelving units. Later Entra, DNB Næringseiendom and Frydenbø came with pallets.

The members gathered in the hall on 11 June. An introduction to tactical area development and the collaboration with the Møhlenpris residents’ association, and chair Tine called for good cluster dynamics for the coming season.

Brødrene Ulveseth arrived with close to 30 pallets of tiles. 74 different types of tile are now in the online shop at Sirken.

Seven pallets and three guys from Tevas. Just like that, Skur 26 had its own plumbing department.
